• Gov. Rauner returns home for NTRO Fall Dinner

RaunerJoin us as we welcome Governor Bruce Rauner back home to New Trier Township at NTRO’s 77th Annual Fall Dinner at Allgauer’s on the River Sunday, October 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

tickets-iconWe helped Gov. Rauner win last November’s election as New Trier went nearly 2-to-1 in his favor. After spending the year engaged in a battle to get Illinois’ finances and economy under control, we would like to welcome Bruce back home to his hometown organization. The governor will be joined by newly elected Congressman Darin LaHood, who won a special election to represent Illinois’ 18th District, which includes Rep. LaHood’s hometown of Peoria. We expect NTRO member and 10th District Congressman Bob Dold to be there (he’s a regular at our dinners), and we hope to see another longtime member, Kenilworth native Senator Mark Kirk, who is running for re-election in 2016. We expect other prominent officeholders and candidates to be there as we get ready to kick off the 2016 election season.

Buy your tickets here. Tickets are $150 for non-members and $125 for NTRO members. Have you not paid your dues? Pay your 2016 dues today, and enjoy member rates for this event and all events in 2016!

  • A Message From Committeeman Bill Cadigan

    NTRO Members and Friends:

I want to inform you that I have been appointed by Governor Rauner and confirmed by the Illinois State Senate to serve as a member of the Illinois State Board of Elections beginning July 1, 2015. Under state law, I cannot simultaneously serve on the State Board of Elections and as a Township Committeeman.

I have submitted my resignation and it will take effect this Sunday, June 14 upon the conclusion of our Annual Wine & Cheese Party.

I also wanted to let you know that I have asked Marc Levine of Wilmette to take over as the leader of the New Trier Republican Organization. Marc is well known and highly regarded in local, state and national Republican circles. He has been very active in NTRO during my tenure as Committeeman and I am confident he will continue to build on the success we had as an organization in the 2014 election cycle. Governor Rauner, Senator Kirk, and Congressman Dold are also very supportive of Marc taking over the leadership of NTRO.

If you have not already done so, please take a moment and click here to RSVP to the Wine and Cheese Party this Sunday. It will give me an opportunity to personally thank you for your friendship and support during my time as Committeeman. It will also give you the chance to spend some time with Marc Levine as he assumes his new responsibilities. We have a great program lined up: State Rep. Jeanne Ives of Wheaton will update you on the happenings in the General Assembly as the Democrats continue to try their old, tired political tricks instead of working across the aisle and with Gov. Rauner to create a workable, balanced budget. John Tillman will also be there. A leading expert on the state’s pension crisis, John also has championed policies to promote economic growth.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday.

    Warm regards,

    WJC SIG

  • Dold sworn in with 114th Congress

WASHINGTON — NTRO member Robert J. Dold of Kenilworth was sworn in as Illinois’ 10th District Representative along with the rest of the 114th Congress.

Congressman Dold, who earned a reputation in his one term from 2011-2013 as a thoughtful, independent Republican who would engage Democrats while promoting the Republican agenda, was greeted by an Illinois delegation that includes Sen. Mark Kirk, a longtime friend of NTRO. Reps. Randy Hultgren, Mike Bost, Rodney Davis, Adam Kinzinger, John Shimkus, Aaron Schock and Peter Roskam complete the list of Republicans representing Illinois.

  • Thank You For A Successful 2014

Thank you. To everyone that donated their time and resources to our candidates, put up yard signs, made phone calls, knocked on doors and did their part this election cycle, we cannot be more grateful. NTRO‘s Bruce Rauner, who walked from his home in Winnetka to Sacred Heart Parish Election Day morning to vote, is now Governor-elect Rauner. Bob Dold, will return to Capitol Hill in January. Tom Cross ultimately lost in one of the closest state-wide contests in history in his bid for treasurer, and Judy Baar Topinka scored re-election as Comptroller. Finally, Glenview’s James Pieczonka, a longtime friend of NTRO, won his hard-fought campaign for Cook County 12th Subcircuit Judge.

In the 17th State Rep District, Kathy Myalls ran a great campaign. Though she did not prevail in her race, Kathy has a very bright future in GOP politics and she deserves our gratitude for forcefully taking on Mike Madigan’s machine. In the 58thDistrict, Dr. Mark Neerhof also put together an impressisve campaign but came up a bit short.

Our work is not done, so now we begin to look to 2015. Can you take a moment now to take care of your 2015 membership dues?

In just a few short months, we’ll gather for our St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner. We will host other events as the year goes on, including our Wine and Cheese Party and Fall Dinner. NTRO Members get reduced prices to attend these events, which have hosted the who’s who of Illinois politics the last few years. Three of Illinois’ biggest Republican stars are Bruce Rauner, Mark Kirk and Bob Dold, all NTRO members, and all fixtures at our events.

Most importantly, your support will ensure that we can build on the momentum the Republicans built this November statewide and nationally again in 2016 and beyond.

We appreciate your past support, and we look forward to delivering you the good news that comes in the months and years ahead as Illinois gets back on the right track.
